Concierge

Concierge” comes from the French expression le Comte des Cierges, meaning the keeper of the candles, harking back to a time when many castles had someone assigned to use candles to light the way for guests. Now of course the term is used to refer to someone who takes care of just about any convenience for hotel guests, making them feel at home in their new surroundings. Besides offering basic information, they also take care of a variety of personal needs and serve as a “private assistant” to InterContinental guests.

The Union International des Concierges d' Hotel (U.I.C.H) annually hosts seminars to provide better service to guests and to analyze changing trends in the industry. The Golden Keys (Les Clefs d’Or) are awarded to the most reliable concierges in the world after a rigorous evaluation process. As the U.I.C.H. slogan “Service through Friendship” indicates, we use our worldwide network to provide the utmost quality of service to our guests.
